Custom Made Blinds: What Are Your Options: With so many options to chose from making the right choice in custom made blinds for your home is an important one. Your selection of window treatment in styles and materials can create the finishing touches to a room and complete your design. Venetian Blinds are a stream lined look. The are usually made of timber, plastic or aluminium and come in an array of colours. Their horizontal slats are easily rotated. This is particularly good for privacy and letting indirect light in with out direct harsh sun.
Roman Blinds are made of soft fabric. When Roman blind are down it looks like a flat piece of fabric covering the window. When it is up it is evenly drawn creating a pleated look. Roman blinds are often left drawn half way up the window so you are able to see the fabric design. Roman blinds are not suited to wet areas like bathrooms.
Roller Blinds are a modern contemporary look. Roller blinds are made of a stiffened piece of fabric that is rolled around a single tube which sits at the bottom of the blind. They can be made up in a range of fabrics and are often hung as 2 blinds, one being a blockout blind to block out all light and the other a translucent blinds to let diffused light through.
Plantation Shutters are very much a designer statement they are made of timber and have louvered sections like blinds, in each panel. They block out most light and increase privacy. They are often available with a center bar. The bottom panel can be left closed for privacy and the top open to still let light in.
